NEW Huda Beauty FauxFilter Skin Finish Foundation Stick and Water Jelly Hydrating Primer | Review
I’m going to keep it all the way real with you guys— this is my first time ever purchasing a foundation stick. I don’t know, when I think of a foundation stick, cakey comes to mind. I feel as though stick foundations are very cakey and move around a lot.
I saw a few reviews (don’t like to overwhelm myself with watching lots of them) about the New Huda Beauty FauxFilter Skin Finish Foundation. All of the reviews I saw were positive except for one. So, I gave in and order the foundation stick. After placing the order, I just knew that when I receive it, I probably wouldn’t like it. I also purchased the New Huda Beauty Water Jelly Hydrating Primer. Now, I was confident in purchasing the primer because I am overly obsessed with hydrating gel primers.
The foundation and primer came super fast. I ordered it Wednesday morning and it showed up at my door Thursday afternoon like ‘Hey Girl, WhatsUp!’ I purchased the duo from the Huda Beauty website. Just to let you guys in, make sure you search online for coupons. I found a 20% off coupon and ended up paying $64.88 for both the primer and foundation.
So now, let’s jump to it, the Huda Beauty FauxFilter Skin Finish Foundation Stick is absolutely beautiful— it’s skin in a stick. I love love love how lightweight and creamy it is. It melts into the skin and gives a smooth, flawless, skin finish look. You do not need to apply a lot to cover the entire face. 3-4 swipes will give you what you want and need. This luxurious foundation stick is buildable and long-wearing. I wore it for about 7- 8 hours— went outside, out to eat with my friend, and to the store. Then, sat in the house for a few hours with it on— that’s because I completely forgot I had on a full face on. I did wear a mask with it and the foundation stayed put.
I only set the foundation with Ben Nye Final Seal.
Now, let’s rewind a little and talk about the Huda Beauty Water Jelly Hydrating Face Primer. Just as I thought, the primer is amazing. It’s also very lightweight and feels like skincare. It comes out watery, but when you work it into the skin, it begins to feel more like a serum and absorbs into the skin flawlessly. I only used the Fenty Skin Toner and Hydra Vizor before applying the primer— something lightweight to prep the skin for a full face. I believe that a good primer like the Huda Beauty Water Jelly Hydrating Face Primer is key to achieving a flawless foundation application. The water jelly primer and FauxFilter stick foundation works well together.
Overall, this was an amazing, well-thought-out, game-changing launch and am here for it! Comment below your thoughts on the New Huda Beauty primer and stick foundation.
